Win a Good-Sounding Headphone this 2014!

We mentioned to our newsletter subscribers that one of the things that we would be doing early this year is give away headphones in form of a contest/competition. And mind you we’re planning to have at least 5 giveaways in the first half of the year. Well hopefully that can happen. :-p

The Fantastic Etymotic HF5 IEM

For Etymotic, it’s always been neutrality and accuracy. Aside from in-ear monitors, they’re also known for making hearing aids and they’ve been doing this for a long time. That gives you an idea that they really know their stuff.  In this review, we will be showcasing the Etymotic HF5 which sits under their flagship ER4.

The AKG K518LE Basshead Cans

Like most headphone enthusiasts, I prefer a sound signature that is as close as possible to neutrality. Sure I can use some warmth here or an extra sparkle there but ideally a flat signature is what I would say the ideal one for my preference. However, there are times where I enjoy a ‘fun sound’ signature and by that I’m referring to one having an accentuated bass response.  That said, it’s not surprising that I liked AKG K518LE which is the featured headphone in this review.

Merry Christmas to Everyone!

The greeting might be a bit late by now but as they say, it’s better to be late than never. 😉 So we would like to greet everyone on behalf of Headphone.ph a merry merry Christmas and in advanced, a fruitful new year. Make sure to enjoy the holidays and eat a lot of good food as this only happens once a year. Well, maybe not for others. 🙂

Sony MDR-1R Headphone Preview

Depending on who you talk to, Sony is either a good or bad headphone company. Their most popular headphone is the V6 and the variations of it but aside from that, most of their offerings I would say are tuned for the typical music listener’s ears and not really for audiophiles (i.e. lots of ‘oomph’ on the sound signature).  However, not a lot of people realize that Sony made some expensive headphones as well with the MDR R10 and even Sony Qualia which both cost well over $1000. Both headphones have been discontinued since.

Then there’s the Sony MDR-1R line.

We scoured the internet to bring you the best deals available for Thanksgiving and Black Friday for year 2013. Headphone Sound Leakage in an Office Enviroment

Headphones are a necessity in any work environment because you can’t simply work without them. Most people use it as a tool to keep themselves focused but let’s also not forget it’s a communication tool (i.e. headsets) for video conferencing. That being said, I work in an environment where headphone audio leakage is somewhat of an issue (just like in many corporate environments), hence the idea for this article.

November Hifi Show 2013 Recap

The November Hifi Show is a yearly local event for audio and video enthusiasts. The purpose, according to them, is to provide a platform to display the finest consumer and professional electronics as a total lifestyle package. The tradition started in 2004 but this year was my first time attending the said event. And boy I enjoyed it!
