I haven’t had the chance to review many IEMs in recent years, and it’s been quite a while since I last added one to my collection. Consequently, it’s always a bit of a surprise when a company sends me an IEM for review. However, I also view it as a welcome opportunity to revisit the IEM landscape, especially in the context of how Chi-Fi has been evolving. For this one, I have the EW200 from Simgot and here’s my full review.
Before we dive in, I want to make it clear that Simgot sent me this IEM for review purposes, but I assure you that my evaluation remains entirely unbiased. They will see this review at the same time you do, so let’s get started.
Overview
The Simgot EW200 is priced at $40 and can be found in various online stores, with Linsoul being one of their official distributors. This IEM is considered one of the more affordable options in Simgot’s lineup, yet they label it as “flagship-level” in some of their marketing materials. It’s available in a single silver color, which I personally found quite appealing. Here are some photos:
Packaging & Build Quality
The packaging is simple yet practical. Inside, you’ll find the earphones, a few extra tips, and a small pouch.
Simgot, according to their website means “simple” and “elegant.” After spending more than three weeks with the EW200, I can confirm that this description is accurate. The IEM has a premium feel with its all-metal body and high-quality cable. It features a common 2-pin connector for detachable IEMs. While I appreciate the IEM’s size and weight, it does seem to attract scratches, which is common for this material. Aesthetically, I prefer its understated design compared to flashier options.
The included tips are standard silicone-based, not premium, but functional. The IEM comes with only six tips (3 pairs), but luckily, the first one I tried provided a perfect fit and comfort.
Comfort
The EW200 is a comfortable IEM that doesn’t stick out too much and offers a good seal, ensuring a snug fit without discomfort. Despite my initial concern about the limited number of tips, I quickly found the right fit for my ears.
Isolation
The isolation provided by the EW200 is quite good, making it suitable for use during flights to block out mid and higher frequencies, though not as effective with very low frequencies compared to noise-cancelers. I personally prefer IEMs though over noise-canceling headphones for extended use due to their comfort and less sound coloration.
