Here at Headphone.ph, we love reviewing headphones and other audio equipment. How much you may ask? We love it that we’re willing to pay for your headphone to get them reviewed here! Yes, you heard that right but there are going to be some guidelines that we need to lay here first before we can begin. We built this website obviously because we love headphones and while we do have plenty of headphones amongst ourselves to review, we all know that they would easily dry up as time goes by. Fortunately for us, we’ve done some partnerships with companies like AKG, JBL, Sennheiser, Sony, etc. and that allowed us to generate a pool of products to review over the course of some time.
But we want to review more headphones. More!!!
With that in mind, we want to start this flexible informal partnership between us where you can send your headphone for review and we will pay a ‘loan fee’ for it and also shoulder shipment. How does that sound? Obviously, there are intricacies to iron out here but the basic idea is if you’re interested in loaning your headphone and we are interested in reviewing it, then it’s a deal.
Now here are the basic guidelines to consider:
1. Agreement between two parties
The first obvious thing is that we need to agree so we can get started. We like budget headphones but we also like mid-tier to higher-end cans (or even weird ones) so we wanted to strike a balance here. If we feel that we like the offer, we would agree on it. Otherwise, we would turn it down.
The agreement also expands on the price and the duration of the loan. How much we can pay and how long do we need it? We can’t simply put a formula here as there are plenty of uncontrolled variables to factor in. Instead, we would negotiate privately and take it from there.
Once the agreement is reached, both parties will sign a consignment agreement for formality’s sake.
2. Form of payment
Now, this is the tricky part but to make things simple, we will be accepting two payment methods. One is PayPal and the other is online bank transfer. With PayPal, the sender must shoulder the PayPal fees.
The consignment agreement is signed when both parties agree, we send out the payment, and you ship out the headphone. Doing a meetup can also work depending on the location and other circumstances.
3. Credit will be given where it’s due
Completely optional but the person who loans the headphone will be given credit in the review article and video itself. This means you can specify a brief sentence or two about yourself, what you do and that will be included. It would even be better if want to link to a personal site of yours (or social account) so you get free traffic! :p
That’s about it! This is a bit experimental for us as we’ve never done something like this before. However, this will also help us fine-tune the process based on the experience as we go along. More importantly, this will get our site to review more headphones than ever which is a win-win situation for all of us! 🙂
How do you proceed next if you’re interested? You would contact us through our contact form and we’ll start the conversation from there. It’s as easy as that!
